Knowledge of English should correspond to at least B2 level of the Common European Framework (CEF) or higher

This requirement does not apply to students who have completed a Bachelors’ Degree awarded by a University located in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, or UK.

Students can opt for one of the following options:

• Valid English language proficiency certificate. Accepted certificates are:
  • BEC Vantage
  • FCE
  • IELTS 5.5 – 6.5 “Academic”
  • TrackTest English Test B2
  • ILEC Pass
  • TOEFL iBT 72-95
  • Trinity College ISE II, GESE7, GESE 8, GESE 9
  • Pearson JETSET Level 5
  • LCCI EfB Level 3
• Declaration of the Medium of Instruction: candidates graduated in Universities located in countries different from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, or UK can present an official declaration that the course that they attended was fully taught in the English language. The Declaration must have been produced by the University or Course.
• In absence of any certificates, the knowledge of the English language will be assessed during the admission interview.

Knowledge of Italian language at B2 level of the Common European Framework (CEF) or higher

Non-eu students residing abroad who would like to enroll in a study course completely taught in Italian have to prove their knowledge of the language through an Italian language test.
The test will be organized by CISIA, in collaboration with the University of Pavia. To find out the dates and how to register consult the website at this page .

The following categories are excluded from this obligation:
1. students who intend to enroll in degree courses in English;
2. students in possession of an Italian language certification of level B2 or higher (such as CILS, CELI, Roma3 or PLIDA)

*, IMPORTANT NOTE: this curriculum is being evaluated by the Italian Ministry of Education for approval. It has been planned to open a dedicated call for application in April.

Candidates must submit:

• Scan of a their VALID passport (preferably with at least two years until the expiration date) or ID card.
• Curriculum vitae in European Format in English.
• Scan of their Bachelors’ Degree (if already available).
• Scan of the transcript of records or diploma supplement (when available) with the names of the exams taken during the Bachelors’ Degree course, grades/marks, workload of each subject (number of hours of lessons or European ECTS credits).
• An official document from the University or Department describing the subjects of the course, acceptable documents or sources of information are: official syllabus, links to official subjects description pages on the website of the course or of the University.
• Italian language proficiency certificate at B2 level or higher. Please see section “Language Requirements” for further information.
• Optional: an English language proficiency certificate at B2 level. Please see section “Language Requirements” for further information.

Admission exam
The Committee will judge whether International students with suitable curriculum must take and pass an oral admission interview. The interview will be held in English and will be aimed at evaluating the knowledge of the candidates in the following topics:

• Hydrogeology.
• Geographic Information System (GIS).
• Sedimentology.
• Mineralogy and petrology.
