Overview

In 1998, the four-year Degree Course in “Scienze Motorie” was instituted in Italy, replacing the “Istituto Superiore di Educazione Fisica” (ISEF).
The University of Pavia, in the Academic Year 1998-1999 activated this degree which is also stimulated by the sport tradition of the University, and through the activity of CUS Pavia the degree has seen numerous athletes emerge and achieve high-level results witnessed by world and Olympic laurels.
The innovation brought by 2000 is the rearrangement of university studies with the introduction of university degrees and specialization classes, also involving the current degree in “Scienze Motorie”.
For this reason, at the University of Pavia and the branch office of Voghera, within the class of the Degrees in Sciences of Motor and Sport Activities, the Inter-Faculty Degree courses are established starting from the Academic Year 2001-2002 including physical education, sports techniques, Preventive motor education and are adapted thanks to the participation of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and Engineering.
The Degree courses were subsequently reorganized and aimed at providing the scientific bases and technical-practical preparation necessary for the understanding, design, management and management of educational, adaptive, recreational and sporting physical activities aimed at the development, maintenance and recovery of movement skills and psychophysical well-being related to them.
The three-year degree course in “Scienze Motorie” is organized into two curricula:
1. “educazione fisica e tecnica sportiva”;
2. “attività motoria preventiva e adattata”.
