The single-cycle degree program in “Farmacia” aims to provide a set of theoretical and practical knowledge in chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, pharmacological and toxicological fields that, critically elaborated to form a consolidated and multidisciplinary complex of skills, allow graduates to lend their qualified work in the entire chain of the complex process that, from the structural design, leads to the production and control of drugs according to the rules codified in pharmacopoeias.

In particular, the degree program in Pharmacy provides a thorough and adequate scientific preparation, for multidisciplinarity and quality, to operate in sectors such as hospitals, public and private pharmacies and, more generally, in all areas where these skills are requested, in scientific and professional resources which constitute the patrimony of the pharmacist.
Peculiar characteristics of the proposed educational system are the following:

b) Reserved space, among the characterizing educational activities, to the biological – pharmacological disciplines;
c) Inclusion, among the similar or complementary training activities, of courses aimed at integrating and consolidating medical culture and providing the necessary elements of business organization and communication techniques.

These specificities respond to the need to stimulate and consolidate, supporting it with training investments, the innovative role that the pharmacist is taking in the interaction with the doctor, for an increasingly effective choice of pharmacological therapies, and with the public, towards whom the Pharmacist represents, especially in some situations, the first medical garrison. Consistent with the functions provided for the Pharmacist within the National Health Service, the graduate in Pharmacy also has specific knowledge in drug distribution and correct information to the public about the therapeutic-toxicological characteristics of the active ingredients contained in pharmaceutical forms.
The provision of this knowledge contributes significantly to the compulsory professional internships, for a total period of 6 months (30 ECTS), to be carried out at a pharmacy open to the public or hospital (for a maximum quota of 3 months).
The skills in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance, supplemented by those mentioned above, allow the graduate in Pharmacy to educate the public on the correct use of drugs and perform, this way, a function of significant social value.
The training acquired in the basic chemical, chemical-pharmaceutical and technological-pharmaceutical disciplines combined with the medical-biological-pharmacological one mentioned above, confers to the graduate in Pharmacy the useful skills to operate effectively in the preparation and dispensation of medicines, as well as in drug information.
In particular, graduates in Pharmacy shall:
