Overview
The course is aimed at training graduates to possess theoretical and methodological tools in the field of historical-artistic studies, for the entire time span ranging from ancient Greek, Etruscan-Italic art to the Middle Ages, up to the modern and contemporary age. Furthermore, the distinction between the three curricula (archeology and history of ancient art, history of medieval, modern and contemporary art, and sources and tools for the history of art at the Cremona headquarters) will allow an appropriate specialized study of the chronological-cultural context to which the basic knowledge of the student is more appropriate.
In any case, it is assumed that, in the first-level study course, a solid knowledge of historical periodization has already been acquired, and this course is therefore aimed at developing the ability to analyze and understand the historical-artistic phenomena, in the light of the most up-to-date theoretical propositions and the most recent methods in diagnostic investigations, as well as to deepen the philological exercise in this specific sector.
