Overview

The Master’s Degree Program in “Psicologia” is aimed at deepening psychological knowledge and preparing professional figures who can carry out psychological work in the field of development (with both evaluation and educational, orientation and clinical tasks), personal and family needs and relationships, in the scholastic world and in the work environments.
The course of study is also structured to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for the purpose of exercising the profession. These training objectives are achieved through advanced training in psychological areas to be acquired within the first year of the course, and specific training aimed at acquiring particularly in-depth knowledge to be acquired for the most part during the second year of the course.
In particular, the course of study aims to provide in-depth knowledge and to train highly specialized professionals in the following structures:
- In clinical psychology, providing specific knowledge related to the deep emotional factors of individual development and deepening knowledge of aspects of relationships, interviews, assessments and diagnoses of personal characteristics, as well as identifying the risks and problems related to the psychological dynamics of the subject. In this case, the main objective is to prepare professional figures able to evaluate the functioning of psychological well-being in relation to the different stages of development and to train, therefore, professional figures who can operate in the area of prevention and care of psychological distress.
- Within the psychology of development and guidance, providing an in-depth preparation on the mechanisms and problems of development throughout the life cycle, aimed at personal services, to train professionals who can work individually or in the context of services in the sectors of childhood, family, and adolescence, and that are able to operate in the field of research (applied or not) on the mechanisms and problems of development. An in-depth preparation is provided on the choice processes in the educational context and in the insertion in the job, to produce professional figures that can operate individually or in the field of services in schools, educational training, work orientation and social services health.
- In the field of work psychology and organizations, providing advanced knowledge, at a theoretical and methodological level, of the disciplines taught, and specific professional skills to operate autonomously, among other things, in the field of applied psychology in the world of organizations, work and communities, in different contexts and in various public and private institutions, both profit and non-profit.
In this case, the main training objectives include providing specialist knowledge, tools and methods of analysis, research and intervention in the fields of:
selection and assessment procedures, training, behavior analysis of individuals and groups in companies and public and private organizations; advanced qualitative and quantitative methodologies for basic and applied research; the theoretical and epistemic foundations of psychosocial research and practice; of the psychology of thought and decision-making processes; of the psychology of the processes related to consumption and economic behavior.
- in experimental psychology and cognitive neuroscience structures providing advanced cognitive psychology tools and notions, aimed at the knowledge of cerebral functioning, of human and comparative neurophysiology, of neuroimaging techniques, of artificial intelligence, with attention to possible applications, including in the evolutionary field and in normal and pathological aging.
Tools and techniques for diagnosis and specific intervention are explored, in the cognitive and metacognitive evaluation techniques and in cognitive rehabilitation in clinical settings.

The Master’s Degree in Psicologia allows, via methods established by law, the graduate’s inclusion in the Register of Psychologists and the subsequent exercise of the profession, with outlets of various kinds in companies (both public and private), organizations and structures of care and assistance to the patient, scientific research organizations, schooling, training, educational and work orientation as well as in all institutions providing consultancy activities in the areas foreseen by the followed academic curriculum.
