Overview
The specialized degree course in “Biotecnologie Mediche e Farmaceutiche” is aimed at equipping specialist graduates with advanced skills in the various areas of human health.
Graduates of this course of study have in-depth knowledge with a strong interdisciplinary connotation on the morphology and function of the human organism in normal and pathological conditions; in particular, they will have competences on the cellular and molecular pathogenetic mechanisms enabling them to deepen those situations in which it is possible to intervene with a biotechnological approach. Furthermore, graduates shall deepen their knowledge of biotechnological techniques with particular reference to their application in the field of research, development and production of drugs.
In particular, graduates will have a solid knowledge of structure, function and analysis of biological macromolecules as well as skills for the analysis of biopharmaceuticals.
Graduates of this course will know the fundamental aspects of the design of innovative drugs, using specific technologies such as molecular modeling, as well as the industrial development of biotechnological drugs for gene therapy and cell therapy.
In this way, graduates of Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies will be able to direct and coordinate activities with prevalent biotechnological and pharmaceutical characterizations.
