Overview
This Master’s degree program intends to offer a thorough and interdisciplinary knowledge of issues of national and international interest concerning African, Middle Eastern and Asian countries.
The planned courses are distributed over two academic years, with lectures, seminars, reading of documents and analysis of case studies, and preparation and discussion of short reports.
The thesis, on a theme agreed upon with the reference teacher, aims to demonstrate the student’s autonomous and original research skills.
Some lessons are held by teachers from African and Asian countries.
The course, in addition to the advanced teaching of English, offers some classes in Arabic, Chinese and Japanese.
Afro-Asian studies in Pavia have a solid tradition of teaching, a specialized library, as well as a research center with its own resources (Study Center for Extra-European Peoples, CSPE).
